Image quality and image resolution of smartphone cameras are getting better day by day. The first big deal was made by Sony<\/strong> by making IMX586 sensors<\/a><\/strong> which can produce 48 MP<\/strong> images. Flagship phones like Huawei P30 Pro introduced this sensor, but now it is available in budget phones like Redmi Note 7S. To compete with them, Realme is also jumping into the higher pixel game and going to launch their new phone with a GW1 sensor<\/a> from Samsung<\/strong> which can produce pictures of 64 MP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But Samsung is taking the battle up after Xiaomi’s announcement<\/a>, and today the South Korean giant introduced jaw-dropping 108 MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor<\/strong>. Samsung will expand its 0.8\u03bcm image sensor offerings and to do this they are closely collaborating with Xiaomi Corp.<\/p>\n

Xiaomi Announces the 108 MP Camera Sensor<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The sensor size of this camera module will be 1\/1.33-inch so it will be able to take images with exceptionally higher detail in extreme low light conditions. Previously mentioned 48 MP lenses normally shoot in 12 MP to produce better images with pixel binning technology<\/strong>. This 108 MP lens also has this technology and the option to click 27 MP images<\/strong> for far better bright and vivid images.<\/p>\n

For the video part, this lens is capable to shoot up to 6K resolution (6016 x 3384) in 30 FPS<\/strong> with lossless quality.<\/p>\n

While talking about this 108 MP sensor Lin Bin, co-founder and president of Xiaomi said, \u201cWe are very pleased that picture resolutions previously available only in a few top-tier DSLR cameras can now be designed into smartphones,\u201d<\/em> He is also hopeful to make more improvements over the next generation of camera set up to make the whole experience better for the users.<\/p>\n
