Nokia 1 Launched In India

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones has finally launched the Nokia 1 in India, focusing towards those who want to upgrade from a feature phone.

The Nokia 1 sports a 4.5-inch, 854×480 resolution IPS display. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage and packs 21050mAh battery. Though it’s an affordable device, the Nokia 1 is a complete device is modern features like front and rear cameras, 4G connectivity, dual SIM and microSD slot. There is a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and 2MP front camera for video calling.

The Nokia 1 is available globally in two colors- Warm Red and Dark Blue. On top of that, users can give Nokia 1 a new makeover with Xpress-on covers. With these interchangeable two-tone polycarbonate cover and solid build, the company says that Nokia 1 will survive the rough and tough lifestyle, ready to take on everyday knocks and bumps.

The special think about Nokia 1 is the OS as it comes with Android Oreo Go Edition, which is optimized and trimmed down version of Android Oreo, made for phones having 1GB or lesser RAM, and hence comes with light apps, designed by Google which are optimized to occupy less, consume less amount of RAM & power, and run smoothly. The apps that are pre-installed on the device are Google Go, Google Maps Go, YouTube Go and Google Assistant for Android Go Edition. With these light apps and optimizations, users get as high as twice the available storage out of the box as compared to Android Nougat. Also, the OS is free from bloatware, skins so that the users can get a pure Android experience.

The all new Nokia 1 with Android Oreo Go Edition will be available for sale starting March 28, 2018, at a price of Rs. 5,499 while the Xpress On covers will be sold separately starting April 2018 at an MRP of Rs. 450 only.

With that, Nokia 1 also brings cashback offers from Jio, discounts from redBus and complimentary 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify. Under Jio cashback offer, consumers can get cashback worth Rs. 2200, making the effective price of Nokia 1 to come down to Rs. 3299 while they enjoy the benefit of additional 60GB 4G LTE data.
